The Hairston Motorsports and Racing Jerry Bickel Race Cars built 2007 Pro Street GTO set the new ET record at 6.284 seconds!! The 377 CID twin turbo Duttweiler GM small block set the Pro Street national ET record at the recently completed Pacific Street Car Association Labor Day Nationals. In addition to setting the record, Hairston Racing had top speed of the meet at 229.47 MPH and won the race.
Clint “The Milkman” Hairston, the team driver, commented that “after running well in the first round of qualifying our performance dropped off significantly. We were in real trouble until we noticed a clutch setup problem. Once we fixed that the car came alive!”
In the winner’s circle team owner, Jim Hairston, again thanked their sponsors (Pertronix, Duttweiler Performance, Precision Turbo, Lucas Oil, XS Power, Racepak, Mickey Thompson, K&N, Crower Clutches, Lenco, Comp Cams, Hogan Manifolds, Strange, Motive Gear, SCE Gaskets, Starside Design, T&D, Russell, Brodix and ARP) for the continued support which make these kinds of performances possible.
The Hairston Team’s next event will be September 25th & 26th at the West Coast Hot Rod Association race at Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, CA.
