Indianapolis, IN HMR arrived at Indianapolis Raceway Park for the FueLab NMCA World Street Finals with hopes for a second straight win.
Qualifying proved difficult for the team although the track and weather conditions were ideal. Clint was able to pedal the car to a 6.44 putting the team into the 4th qualifying spot. With the Sunday weather forecast calling for rain, NMCA wisely choose to run the entire race on Saturday. Although it was a long day for both the racers and track personnel, the race was finally completed early Sunday morning.
Clint was able to get by Eric Burnet in round one but lost lane choice to Jim Widener for the second round. In a close race, Clint moved on to the Semifinals to face Jeff Lutz the #1 qualifier. Crew chief, Jake Hairston, put a killer tune-up on the car running a blistering 5.97 at 251.29 mph to take the win over Lutz. This put the team in a position to set both ends of the National Record with a 1% backup in the finals against Randy Adler. Clint got his 13th Pro Street win and second Wally with a 6.00 at 251.49 mph win over a very stout 6.09 from Randy Adler and backed up the National record. A great win for team HMR and moved them to a second place finish in the points behind the 2012 Champion, Chris Rini.
The final event of the season will be at the Las Vegas Speedway for the Street Car Super Nationals November 15-18. Make sure you visit www.hairstonmotorsports.com to view new exciting race action video and the record setting run.
